Volkswagen Routan (2008): first official pictures

By Stephen Dobie First Official Pictures 16 January 2008 16:03 Volkswagen’s push for more sales in the US will be reinforced with the new Routan minivan, due to be shown to its North American market at the Chicago Auto Show in February 2008. The model is heavily based on the Chrysler Town and Country (the Grand Voyager to you and me) and will major on interior space. The car itself is over five metres long and accommodates seven.

Teh Lexus CT 200h has emissions of just 96g/km We have to go with the flow on this because, although we have no faith in the assertion that man is responsible for climate change, for as long as Governments penalise and promote cars based on the emissions of CO2 from their tailpipe (I know, it’s barking) we have to accept that car makers will respond to that stick and carrot. Which is why we see a raft of car makers churning out ‘Eco’ cars with a 99g/km emissions figure, as sub-100g/km of CO2 emissions is the Holy Grail for maximising tax effiecencies. Of course, Lexus has gone a step further and seem intent on producing only hybrid cars as soon as possible.

2014 Jeep Liberty prototype caught in spy photos

The vehicle in these photos might resemble an Alfa Romeo Giulietta from some angles, but the raised ride height, chunky all-terrain tires and slotted grille hiding behind the camouflage suggest a prototype of the 2014 Jeep Liberty. Code-named UJ, the new Jeep Liberty will be built at Chrysler's Toledo, Ohio, assembly plant. A new 3.2-liter V6 will power the Liberty, which will come with a nine-speed automatic transmission.
